The November 4th Election: What we Learned about ourselves

The Sobering Truth about Christianity in America – Part One

November 7, 2008

“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father

in spirit and truth, for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

John 4:23 (KJV)

Dear _______,

Fundamental to the life of serious Christians is the worship of Jesus Christ as

our LORD and Savior. That worship includes living each day in the light of His Word

and indwelling presence as we seek to glorifiy Him in all that we think, say, and

Nothing more clearly reveals whether we truly worship Him in this manner or not,

than our VOTES in this week’s election.

What the election says about Evangelicals in America(Part One)

Evangelicals ‘say’ they believe the Bible to be the infallible, inerrant, and inspired

Word of God; authoritative in all of life and practice. But when it comes to protecting

the life of the most innocent and vulnerable of those who are created by God in

His image and likeness, 24% of Evangelicals who cast their VOTE for the President

of the United States, cast their VOTENOT for the candidate whose commitment to life

was clear, but for the candidate whose public comments and stated position was extreme

in favoring the sacrifice of human beings in the womb – and even out of the womb

– for any reason at all.

In short, they deny by their vote for such a candidate, any loyalty to what they

‘say’ they believe when it comes to what the Scriptures teach about the sanctity

of life. Why?

Why would a serious, committed Christian VOTE for a man who stated, “The first thing

I’ll do as President is sign the Freedom of Choice Act” (July 17, 2007, speech to

the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.), a Federal law that will nullify hundreds of

state laws requiring parental involvement for minors who wish to have an abortion,

any waiting period, informed consent, or any restrictions on late-term abortions.

FOCA will also reverse the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003, allowing infants

to be killed outright seconds before they would be born alive.

While it is commendable that 74% of Evangelicals VOTED for the candidate who would

respect life and nominate strict constructionists to the Courts, it is not commendable

that 7,628,549 professing Evangelical Christians VOTED FOR the candidate who will

likely seal the fate of millions of yet conceived and unborn with his decision to

sign FOCA and his preference for Supreme Court appointments who will sustain the

abortion industry in America for at least 20 years.

My assessment of the Evangelical VOTE and what it reveals, will continue in Part

2 followed by an assessment of the VOTE in Oregon.

Thank you for standing with us Restore America

“The LORD has repaid you for all the blood you shed in the household of Saul, in

whose place you have reigned. The LORD has handed the kingdom over to your son

Absalom. You have come to ruin because you are a man of blood!”

2 Sam 16:8 (NIV)

A scary thought if you believe the God breathed scripture found in the Holy Bible, but if you voted for Obama, then it is clear that you did not vote as Jesus Christ would have wanted you to vote.  I know we all answer for our sins when we face God on judgement day, myself included, but did you ever think that you would have to answer to God for a simple pen to paper act on November 4th- A day when, those of you who profess you are believers in Jesus Christ, filled in the little oval next to Obamas name?  You will have to answer for all of the unborn babies that are going to be killed when Obama changes the laws he has promised to change.  The floodgates of hell have just been pushed open even further.
