Hearding Chickens?

The boys went out for a break this morning when I heard, “heeyaw, heeyaw,” over and over again.  I looked out and the boys had sticks and were yelling at the chickens who were obediently moving towards their coop.

We’ve been finding eggs again too.  They haven’t layed any eggs since the beginning of Sept.  I don’t have a light in the coop to extend their daylight hours for winter egg production.  I think they were so cold during the “arctic blast,” we had a few weeks ago, that they started laying eggs again to warm themselves up.  Curious!

Actually, come to think of it, the only one that is laying is the Rhode Island Red.  The Auracanas and the Bantams are not laying at all.  Hmmmm, even more curious.
